OUR HISTORY
The leather trading company was conceived in 1950 and steadily grew over the years, and became a respected manufacturer of quality shoes. Without hesitation, over the years the family generations have stepped into the company. The expertise of Virola International is now varied from design and production to distribution of shoes, either for its own brands, licensed brands or for global brands. The main idea was to craft high-quality uppers that fully respected traditional craftsmanship. Three generations have joined in the venture and the undisputed success of the products they made turned that which had been a small local firm into a point of reference for many of the best brands in the footwear industry.

Virola International is an ISO:9001 Standard accredited company assuring all raw materials approved adhere to quality standards in all aspects of our operation. Virola International has always placed continuous emphasis on quality with extensive checks conducted on raw materials, throughout the production process and on finished products. Research and development is essential in creating new design, and using new materials to meet customers’ changing needs. The Quality Assurance Department with European technicians conducts regular examinations on all products manufactured and oversees the implementation of quality controls at every stage of production.

Over the years, technology played an important role in production techniques, but the values and philosophy that have always guided the company remained steady. Today the company has a team of 800 plus people, sells 4.5 million pairs of shoes per year. Nothing is accomplished without the professional expertise of all the men and women who work at the firm, its most precious resource. Values, experience, and meticulous attention to detail, as well as the pleasure of the artisanal craftsmanship.
